so my insane self decided to join the P4L fitness team and participate in the Super Spartan race at the end of January with my brother. why in the world would i do such a thing? this is the girl who whined like a little baby the entire mud run because i got cut on the palm in the second mud pit... haha. now i'll be jumping over FIRE. the race is 8 miles, 20 obstacles... untimed thankfully, but i'm stoked (and possibly a wack-job). i've needed something to really push me recently and this is the perfect thing to get me working hard through the holidays. as of yesterday it was about 10 weeks out so today i finally decided to really hunker down and get a plan in shape. i found this blog and decided to loosely refer to it for 30 days of working out. mind you, i will incorporate rest days (thursdays ya know when i work 12 hours) but i will also be kicking major booty.
so today here's what i did! mind you, i'm off work for the week and my goal was two-a-days so i started strong today.
8:15am with my momma, we went to the gym together and here's what we did:
150 lunges
100 crunches
70 push ups (35 on toes, 35 on knees)
100 crunches
100 squats
100 crunches
25 assisted chin ups
felt great and foam rolled after.
then around 4:20pm i went on a timed 20min run. it was a little over 2 miles and i felt good other than a side ache i got a little over half way through.
so day one, so far, so great! tomorrow ill most likely be sore but i'll be updating my blog with my workouts as often as possible through this training for future reference and to share with all of you that are interested in following me.
ps. i handled another class in my MBA program. 3.75GPA baby! just keep swimming, just keep swimming.
i'll leave you all with a video of last year's race... eek!
