whhhyyy did we go here? well there were a few reasons.
1. i needed to get away. desperately. i've been too broke to go on any sort of vacation and so i figured it'd be nice to go up and stay with my aunt rosie and uncle steve in half moon bay. they always so graciously let me stay there. no questions asked. i love my family. i'm so blessed.
2. i got TRX certified! :) so as i'm studying for my NASM certification, i figured i'd get TRX certified. what other place to do so then the headquarters? it was a freakin' blast! :) i met some really awesome people, our instructor was so completely knowledgeable and taught me so much. i seriously cannot wait to use what i've learned to help people!
3. i want to move up there. i know, i know, you think im crazy! but in all seriousness. each time i go up there i consider it more and more and realize i need to work my booty off to be able to afford it but it's SO worth it. i will definitely live there. trust me.
so yes. my trip to norcal of course included a few long runs on the beautiful coast in perfect running weather. a couple of trips to the city with krysta. i swear that girl and i have the best adventures together. :) and some time visiting with my family. i couldn't have asked for a better short weekend trip to norcal. and i came home happier than ever. the flat tire 30 minutes into our drive didn't even put a damper on anything but my bank account. and we laughed our booties off the entire time.
it really makes me think how important it is to take time to yourself. in this case, it was somewhat of a business-turned-pleasure trip but it's not business when it's something you're completely passionate about and love. i know my last post i was trying to get myself out of a funk and that trip was exactly what i needed because guess what! i couldn't be happier right now.
i start work tomorrow and my half marathon training has been going beautifully. happy unofficial start of fall my friends.
