the first new eating disorder was called "adult selective eating" which caters to people that are extremely picky with what they eat. the example they gave was a woman who only eats french fries, pasta, and cake or something like that... crazy! (i be she's skinny too...)
the second one is the one that peaked my interest the most.. "orthorexia" - "sufferers increasingly restrict their diets to foods they consider pure, natural and healthful. Some researchers say that orthorexia may combine a touch of obsessive compulsive disorder... " immediately i was like, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! i can finally diagnose myself! no more people calling me OCD about my crazy cooking, planning, analyzing, timing, obsessing over my food. plus, my brother is in on it with me, so we can be "orthorexic" together, right? well, sadly, no... as i read on, i came to find that it's far more extreme than we are (i didn't think this was possible either, don't worry). it actually pertains to people that will only eat certain foods, for example, broccoli and cauliflower. that's it! helllllllllll no will that be me, EVER. so rather than calling myself orothorexic, i'm going to call myself dedicated, motivated, and focused, thank you very much. :)
now, with all this, i'd like to share with you a few photos of my weekly, sometimes biweekly, cooking sesh i enjoy in my kitchen. mind you, my
this is 2lbs of ground turkey and some steamed broccoli
yes, i weigh out and portion my proteins... 4oz containers of ground turkey, 3oz bags of chicken, hard boiled eggs and two cup servings of broccoli...
yes, OCD.. and yes, we are amazing! i'm thinking of going into a business... i can do this for you!!! :) how much would you pay me?!
