i've decided to rule november NO EXCUSE NOVEMBER because the holidays are coming and NO ONE should gain wait. nope, no one.
what do you do to stay on track? i feel like because i finally am able to run and workout again i'm in motivation zone. i'm counting the days until this spartan sprint in malibu on december 8th and decided to sign up for my first post-injury half marathon on december 29th. YIKES!!
the half marathon is the inagural race so it should be interesting. it is called the SAN DIEGO HOLIDAY HALF (click for more info) and runs from rancho penasquitos to torrey pines state beach down the 56 corridor. i'm so scared! i don't know why but both races make me very nervous. the spartan sprint is scary because i'm so afraid of getting injured again. i wanted to be able to climb the rope and jump the walls on my own and at this point, i haven't tried either because of my deathly fear of getting injured. crazy what an injury can do for your mind and focus!
meanwhile, i've been running and following the nike half marathon training schedule. i just ran 7 miles today and it was pretty brutal. between the 80 degree unexpected weather to no shade to being SO thirsty the entire run, i struggled, but i did it!! one of my goals (as you can see below) is to stay under a 10min/mile all month with my training runs. ha... didn't do it today. but gotta keep at it!!
