the countdown & no excuses!

hello friends! i've started off my november busier than ever and this long weekend has given me some time to finally post a new blog!!

i've decided to rule november NO EXCUSE NOVEMBER because the holidays are coming and NO ONE should gain wait. nope, no one.

what do you do to stay on track? i feel like because i finally am able to run and workout again i'm in motivation zone.  i'm counting the days until this spartan sprint in malibu on december 8th and decided to sign up for my first post-injury half marathon on december 29th. YIKES!!

the half marathon is the inagural race so it should be interesting. it is called the SAN DIEGO HOLIDAY HALF (click for more info) and runs from rancho penasquitos to torrey pines state beach down the 56 corridor.  i'm so scared! i don't know why but both races make me very nervous.  the spartan sprint is scary because i'm so afraid of getting injured again.  i wanted to be able to climb the rope and jump the walls on my own and at this point, i haven't tried either because of my deathly fear of getting injured.  crazy what an injury can do for your mind and focus!

meanwhile, i've been running and following the nike half marathon training schedule.  i just ran 7 miles today and it was pretty brutal.  between the 80 degree unexpected weather to no shade to being SO thirsty the entire run, i struggled, but i did it!! one of my goals (as you can see below) is to stay under a 10min/mile all month with my training runs. ha... didn't do it today. but gotta keep at it!!

PRE-RUN

POST-RUN lol!
as you can see, i also made a "no froyo till the spartan race" deal with myself.  i hadn't had it for almost a month and decided to treat myself last night. after eating it i said i would wait till spartan day to eat it again.  i have been eating paleo 6 days a week and eating whatever i want the seventh day, at least for the most part. i feel great. no bloating, flatter stomach, improved workout/running performance and i've lost a few lbs.  definitely good enough for me to keep at it! especially leading into the holidays.  it helps me stay on track.  i know i can eat paleo and then eat thankgiving, or eat paleo every day and then go to a christmas party one day and not feel guilty.  food guilt is a terrible thing, and knowing that eating a cookie is okay in moderation, and accepting that i am choosing to eat the cookie and also choosing to NOT eat cookies every day, makes life a LOT easier. :)

my favorite go-to paleo breakfast: eggs with bell peppers and onion, avocado, and bacon!
well i'm off to do some homework and train clients! i have some AWESOME holiday training specials that ill be sharing ASAP.  if you'd like them e-mailed to you, just click on the "personal training" tab at the top and send me a quick email saying you want them.

happppppppppppy veteran's day to all the hard-working vets out there! i wouldn't be free to have this much fun in life without you all! you rock!!

ps. i wanted to share with you my LEGIT leggings i wore on halloween... cuuuuuuuuute huh?!
