Dear Friends and Family,

As many of you know, I am getting married in the fall of 2011. With this upcoming date, I have set forth on a journey to live a healthier life so that I can start my next life endeavor in the best shape and health I have ever been. While doing it on my own was my first option, I often struggled with motivation and support. In searching for help, I came across the Valley’s Biggest Loser competition.

The Valley’s Biggest Loser is a non-profit organization that helps overweight people living in the Temecula/Murrieta valleys learn to live a healthy life by giving them nutrition classes, a trainer, weekly weigh-ins/challenges and even a $5,000 prize to the top percentage body weight loser at the end of 12 weeks. The great thing about this program is that all the profits made go to Project TOUCH which is helping to establish a local women’s transitional home in the Temecula/Murrieta area and also to a local food pantry.

As with any competition, there are perks to raising the most money for charity. If, with your support, I am able to bring in $20 to the first weigh-in, I will get one week worth of immunity. Furthermore, if I can raise $500 for the first weigh-in, I will get two weeks immunity and a 2lb weight advantage. My first weigh-in is on Saturday, September 11th, and for those of you who have seen the television program The Biggest Loser before, you know how important immunity is.

Upon winning this competition, I plan to use the $5000 for my wedding. More importantly, however, is this great life-changing journey I am about to embark on. If I can get 25 people to donate $20, I will have my goal. Anything over my goal will also go toward these amazing charities and work to give me more immunity throughout the competition. I will be accepting donations of ANY denomination, through the last week of the competition which ends on December 4th. Not only are you helping me to live a better life, but you are helping many other people as well.
